On 11-24-2025, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office received information that Ronnie Buttram DOB/11-19-1972, a registered Sexual Offender, failed to report his change of employment as well as failed to report a change of his phone number.

Buttram was adjudicated guilty in 1994, in Citrus County, for Sexual Assault, Victim 12 Years of age or older. This conviction designated Buttram as a Sexual Offender in the State of Florida with registration requirements.

The information received indicated Buttram had been terminated from his employer on 10-28- 2025 and may have been using an unreported phone number.

On 11-25-2025, Buttram contacted Hernando County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center from the unreported phone number.

On 12-01-2025, Detective Marcacci made contact with Buttram at the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office where he was placed under arrest on the following charges:

• Count 1: Failure to Report Change of Phone Number Within 48 Hours
• Count 2: Failure to Report Change of Employment Within 48 Hours

Buttram was transported to the Hernando County Detention Center, where he is being held without bond.
